Owners Franklin Dusserre and Dylan Petrich, known as the “French Cowboys,” bring a unique blend of heritage, passion, and vision to every project. Raised in France by American mothers and French fathers, they found their lives transformed after a visit to Texas, where the charm of the Hill Country and genuine warmth of Southern hospitality captured them completely.

Originally an 1860’s athletics club and bowling alley, Camp Comfort is a quintessential Texas Hill Country retreat. Set along Cypress Creek, it offers an inviting blend of accommodations — from standard rooms and individual cabins to Airstreams and a private home with a pool. Guests can enjoy amenities like an indoor social hall, an outdoor concert stage, and a wood-barrel sauna, creating an unforgettable escape. Situated a few minutes away from its sister property, the Meyer Hotel.

Originally a stagecoach shop, this enchanting destination features historic buildings, each with their own story, radiating charm. Set against the serene backdrop of Cypress Creek, the grounds invite guests to explore structures that evoke a bygone era. Guests can enjoy our pool, speakeasy bar, multiple outdoor firepits, and seating areas — or simply stroll along the creek on our expansive grounds. The Gruene River Inn — just a five-minute walk from the iconic Gruene Hall — offers a uniquely designed space that embraces Gruene’s country music spirit.
